Hello! My name is Sarah Phelps. I moved to the Greenville area from Chicago in 2013. I grew up as an Air Force brat and moved about every two years. My father was a Navigator in the F-4 Phantom, F-111 and F-15E. We spent a lot of time in the Southeastern states and overseas in England and Germany.
I earned my Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the University of Notre Dame in 2006. I returned to the University of Notre Dame to complete my Master of Education in 2009. I hold certifications in Primary Education, Elementary Education, Literacy, and Middle Level Social Studies.
This is my 20th year in education and 8th year teaching 4th Grade. I started my career in Los Angeles, California teaching middle school, and moved to Chicago, Illinois in 2009 where I taught third grade and middle school. I finally landed in Greenville County in 2013 where I have taught fourth and fifth grades, served as an interventionist in reading and math for Kindergarten through fifth grade and taught fourth grade STEAM Lab. I am thrilled be a Buena Vista Bobcat and I look forward to contributing to the legacy and being part of this wonderful school community.
My husband Richard is an accountant with a local accounting firm. We met here in Greenville in 2019. We have a beautiful and free-spirited 2 year old daughter, Catherine. She and our two Pomeranians, Gizmo and Juniper, love going on backyard adventures and getting into mischief.
We enjoy spending time as a family exploring the outdoors, playing at local parks, working in the yard, reading together and cheering on my Notre Dame Irish and the Clemson Tigers. You will also find me knitting and reading when things are quiet and calm.
