Hello Parents and Students!
My name is Chris Lindsey, and I will be teaching your child fourth grade Math and Reading at Plain Elementary School. I co-teach with Mrs. Jesyca Arnold, who will teach Writing, Social Studies, and Science during the second half of the day. I have taught both fourth and fifth grade at Plain over the last 14 years. Since graduating from the University of Connecticut in 1990, I have taught most grade levels from Preschool through Grade 6 in Connecticut, Texas, Tennessee, and South Carolina.
I grew up in Greenwich, Connecticut, and I still enjoy visiting New England twice a year to see my parents and sisters, and going to the beach (which I adore!) This year I traveled with my husband to beautiful Maine! I love to travel. I have visited faraway places such as England, Portugal, France, Germany, The Netherlands, the Caribbean, and Hawaii. During my junior year in college, I had the awesome privilege of studying for a semester in Granada, Spain, where I learned to speak Spanish. I love to cook, read novels and sing, and am a member of the Brookwood Church Praise Choir.
I have been married to my husband Keith for 33 years, and we have 3 terrific kids, all of whom attended Plain Elementary. My oldest, Cameron, graduated in 2016 from the Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs, and is a Captain in the Air Force and a C17 Pilot. He and his wife are stationed in Charleston, and have a precious 2-year old daughter, with another baby girl due in October!
My younger son Connor graduated in 2019 from Clemson University as a Computer Engineering major and works virtually at Amazon Web Services and lives in Charleston as well. My daughter Kara has just started a job, also in Charleston, after graduating from Clemson this past May with a degree in Biomedical Engineering. Needless to say, we spend many weekends in Charleston!
We also have a blind, but very adorable 13½ year old rescue border collie-cocker spaniel named Toby.
I am so very honored to be able to teach your children math and reading each day. As we share a classroom, Mrs. Arnold and I are available to answer any questions you may have as we navigate this year together. Please feel free to contact me any time. I look forward to a super year!
