Textbook: McGraw Hill, Reveal Math Course 2
*Students will be given a workbook that will stay at school. Problems and notes will be written in this, as well as in a composition notebook.
Students will also utilize a software called ALEKS, that is designed to be used as review, reinforcement, and extensions.. This online program is tailored to each students’ needs and tracks their progress from elementary school.

Course Description:
The instructional approach concepts of McGraw Hill is designed to help students meet high academic standards and prepare them for future success. Teachers will use Reveal Math to help your child • increase confidence in their math ability; • be curious about math; • develop problem-solving skills; • build mastery of operations, relationships, and mathematical concepts.
In class, your child will explore new concepts and develop new skills. Students will expand their math thinking and problem-solving skills. They will be encouraged to persevere as they solve problems, work with their classmates, and on their own. With Reveal Math, your child will take part in activities that spark curiosity and challenge their thinking. Students will engage in sense-making activities that will help each child think more critically about the math that is around them.
You and your child can access Reveal Math online from home. Your child will receive an online account that will give you access to the following: • Family letters for each unit • Homework assignments • Interactive Student Edition • Math Replay videos that review key concepts from the lesson • eToolkit with digital tools and virtual manipulatives • Digital games to help your child practice math skills

Materials Needed For Class:
Composition book, earbuds, highlighter, Pencils/pens, colored pencils, charged chromebook, glue stick or scotch tape
Course Units: This course teaches the areas of Matter and its interactions, Energy, From Molecules to Organisms, Ecosystems, and Earth and Human Activity. Science and engineering practices are woven throughout to explore and engage in hands-on activities.
