I was born in Michigan and moved to Charlotte, North Carolina when I was ten. I was inspired to become a teacher very young while watching my mom, year after year, teach at my school. I met my husband in college and we have been married for 15 years. We have a dog named Molly who is 12 years old. We had our first child in May 2017 and our second in November 2019. They are the love of our lives! We enjoy living in Travelers Rest.
I earned my Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education in 2006. In 2011, I earned my Masters of Education. This is my sixteenth year working in Greenville County. I started teaching 3rd grade at Gateway Elementary in 2006. After five years teaching 3rd grade, I moved to teach 5th grade in 2011. While writing math curriculum for the district in the Summer of 2013, I discovered a passion for collaborating with teachers. In my final year in the classroom, I prepared myself to become an instructional coach. I accepted the position at Berea Elementary in 2014 and am so thankful to be at this school. I enjoy working with the teachers and students at my school. Besides instructional coaching, I work with the 5th grade safety patrol and am the school webmaster on top of many other duties as needed. I am looking forward to another great year at Berea Elementary!
