Mission and Goals

The mission of the GCS Library Media Program is to foster a learning community that creates lifelong learners who can:

• read critically

• express ideas

• investigate through inquiry

• use sources

• design solutions

• learn independently

• cultivate meaningful relationships

• engage as a citizen

• and pursue and develip personal interests. 

The goals and objectives of the Northwood Middle School Media Center is to provide meaningful learning experiences that impact student achievement by:

·        Collaborating with classroom teachers to integrate Information Literacy and Technology Skills that encourage students to grow in their ability to find, generate, evaluate and apply information.

·        Providing a variety of print and non-print materials which support the curriculum and personal interests of students.

·        Promoting reading and literacy to engage and inspire students to become life-long learners.
