About Me

I am excited about music at Northwest Middle School! I have been teaching orchestra for 24 years at the middle or high school levels. I am primarily a violinist and violist, but I love anything music related. I am mother of 3 children and have 2 sweet grandchildren. I am on staff with the Carolina Youth Symphony and spend my "free time" teaching violin lessons, playing professionally, and occassionally composing music.

Many former students have continued their studies and become professional musicians. Others continue to play as a hobby. Regardless of how far a student pursues their musical studies, there is a value to the role of music in our lives. Participation in a music ensemble fosters friendship, teamwork, a strong work ethic, and brain development that has been shown to carry over into other learning processes. I look forward to working with every student to help them reach their musical potential.Â
