Purpose and Benefits:

Our coffee shop serves as a dynamic learning platform where students can develop a range of skills that will benefit them in future employment and independent living. The program is tailored to meet the needs of our students and offers numerous benefits, including:

• Vocational Skills: Students will learn various aspects of running a coffee shop, such as taking orders, making beverages, handling cash transactions, and customer service.

• Life Skills: Participation in this program will enhance students' communication, teamwork, time management, and problem-solving abilities.

• Confidence and Independence: By working in a real-world setting, students will gain confidence and a sense of independence.

• Community Engagement: The coffee shop will foster a sense of community within the school and with thier peers, promoting inclusivity and understanding.

Student Roles and Responsibilities:

 Students will be involved in all aspects of the coffee shop operations, including:

• Preparing and serving coffee 

• Taking and fulfilling customer orders

• Managing inventory and supplies

• Handling payments and providing change

• Ensuring cleanliness and hygiene in the work area

Supervision and Support:

Staff and gen ed. volunteers help supervise the coffee shop, providing guidance and support to ensure a positive and educational experience for our students. Safety and learning are our top priorities, and we are committed to creating a nurturing environment.
