¡Hola! My name is Nancy “Señora” Larrain and it is a pleasure to welcome you to my Spanish class! I lived, studied, and worked in Spain for many years and I LOVE teaching Spanish! I obtained National Board Certification as a Spanish teacher in 2006 and I have a Masters in the Spanish Language through Middlebury College (program in Spain).

My husband and children are from Spain and I frequently travel to Spanish speaking countries. I love everything about the Spanish language and culture, and I enjoy the privilege of sharing my knowledge and enthusiasm with my students. Spanish is widely spoken and a very practical language to know. Learning a foreign language can be fun, but it also takes serious effort.

I have taught EVERY level of Spanish from Exploratory Spanish up to and including AP Spanish Language for many years! This year I will be teaching Spanish 2 Honors. MY job will be to prepare YOU for Spanish 3 Honors next year! My expectations will be high. I expect students to be able to listen closely to directions, keep up with assignments, and to keep an organized eNotebook. Chromebooks must be charged and earbuds are highly recommended!

My greatest hope is that you will continue to study Spanish in the future and perhaps study abroad like so many of my former students have done! In fact, a number of my former students are or plan to be Spanish teachers! I am also the World Language Department Chair, so please feel free to contact me with any concerns or questions regarding my classes and the World Language department.
