About Me

Hi! My name is Cassie Weathers and I can't wait to meet all of you. We are going to have a great year learning together and have tons of fun along the way. Mrs. Avant will be your teacher for Reading and Writing, and I will be your teacher for Math, Science, and Social Studies. 

This is going to be my fifth year of teaching fifth grade! You might recognize me as Ms. Smith from last year, but I got married this summer! I graduated from the University of South Carolina in May of 2021 with my Bachelors Degree in Elementary Education and I have also received by Masters Degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Grand Canyon University. 

My husband and I have a chocolate lab named Maggie and we love to spend time outdoors with her. In my free time I also love to read and bake. 

These are some of my favorite things: Iced Coffee, Diet Coke, Popcorn, Reese's Peanut Butter Cups (really anything with peanut butter and chocolate), Beach Trips, and Football Games (my teams are the Gamecocks and the New York Giants)
