About Mrs. Norton

Hello Families!  

  Welcome to  1st Grade!!  I am so excited to be your teacher this year!  I know we are going to have a wonderful year together filled with fun, laughter, hard work, and growth.  I wanted to share with you a little bit about myself. 

   I earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology and Master's degree in Elementary Education at Christopher Newport University in 2017 and 2018. In 2020 I earned my ESOL Endorsement. My husband, Nick, and I are originally from Virginia but are happy to have called Greenville home for two years. We also have a one year old golden retriever. Her name is Murphy!

   I enjoy hiking, painting, reading, being around family, and traveling.  I'm an avid volleyball and soccer player and have had the opportunity to coach middle school volleyball and high school soccer. 

  I truly find it a blessing to be part of an amazing team at Skyland Elementary.  It is a wonderful place to work every day and am looking forward to a wonderful year with you in First Grade!  I believe that our classroom should be a happy and safe place where all students can grow!  I cannot wait to see the progress that they will make, not just this year, but for years to come!
