In my classroom, I expect the students to follow the expectations we set together as a class. I believe the student-teacher relationship is the foundation for creating a successful classroom. I build strong relationships with my students, so when there is a behavior concern, I can talk openly with the student about what has happened and how we can fix this behavior. From the beginning, I let my students know that I respect them, and in return, I expect respect from the students.
Students will follow the classroom expectations:
Be safe
Be kind to all
Keep hands, feet, and objects to yourself
Follow directions
Keep your space clean
Students will follow the school rules:
Keep your hands, feet, and objects to yourself
Use a quiet voice
Show respect for others and their property
In addition to these five classroom rules and school rules, as a class, we created a “Class Promise” and brainstormed different “promises” we want to make as a class.
