Hi! My name is Edie Philips. I am originally from the Lowcountry in South Carolina, but I moved upstate to be closer to my children in Columbia. My undergraduate degree from the University of North Carolina at Wilmington is in Marine Biology. I worked with loggerhead sea turtles for eight years and with the SCDNR as a shrimp pathologist for three years. Later, I started teaching and earned my Masters Degree in Education from the University of South Carolina. I had taught at Hilton Head Island High School for seventeen years before coming to Greenville Senior High School.
I'm looking forward to the new semester and all of the adventures it will bring. I especially look forward to meeting all of my students. I love getting involved, watching students grow and excel in and out of the classroom, and I love any reason to dress in a theme (spirit week). If you have me as your teacher, you're in good hands, you're going to learn a lot, and we're going to have a great semester!!
