The work we do during our class ELA rotation will be recorded in two separate grade books:
Reading and Language Arts. *Spelling is practiced through a vocabulary/word study and is 10% of the Language Arts Grade book. **Writing and Grammar work are the other components of the Language Arts Grade book
In fifth grade we work with students to use their BINDER to contain necessary supplies and organize work for each class.
Students also use their agenda to record homework, assessments, projects and important dates. They will be using both the weekly and the MONTHLY sections of the agenda.
Announcements and organizational materials along with MONTHLY ELA Study Guides for students are in google classroom and/or given on paper to be kept in their binder ELA tab.
all graded paperwork is also in their Binder ela tab.
Please check student binders and agendas regularly to help support their organization habits.
Students should be showing their work to you every Thursday by sharing their binder and google classroom
"VIEW WORK" page.
*ELA work is returned to students directly to be used for reflection and studying. It is not not sent in the Thursday folder.
Our live classroom experience and Google Classroom are the main resources for students to access classwork, projects, study guides and assessment dates.
