English III is a survey of American Literature dating from pre-colonial to the present, with a strong emphasis on literary analysis and writing, vocabulary, written and spoken expression, and research skills, including a major research paper. The course is designed to prepare students for the rigor of the South Carolina State Standards for College and Career Readiness. English III will address the standards from the South Carolina College and Career Ready Standards and Indicators from the SCDE.
