Hello, Yellowjackets! My name is Melody Sherf, and this is my fifth year of working with this team of dedicated teachers at Greer Middle. I love math and am happy to share my love of math with my students to encourage them to be productive, responsible citizens.

My teaching career started in 1998 when I student taught at Hillcrest High in Simpsonville. I then taught junior and senior high math at a school in Michigan. I took a break after my husband and I started our family, but I continued to tutor students and coach sports. When my youngest entered kindergarten, I started substituting in public and charter schools in the Detroit area. I have also coached various sports teams including soccer, volleyball, softball and basketball.

Nine years ago our family transitioned down to the Greenville area due to my husband's job. After a year of working in finances for a non-profit organization, I regained my teacher certification and taught high school math for four years before transitioning here. I am so thankful for the opportunity to teach middle school.

I enjoy watching and playing sports. I love to come and support my students at any of their events. Our school is filled with talented young people, and I would love to show my support for them. I also love to cook and cater events. I enjoy swimming, shopping, helping others and spending time with my family. My husband and I have four wonderful children, three daughters-in-law, a son-in-law, two grandbabies, two golden retrievers, and three grand-puppies!

I'm looking forward to getting to know all of you and working with you to make your last year at Greer Middle the best year ever!
