About  the Teacher

Hey, Yellowjackets! My name is Melody Sherf and this is my second year of working with this team of dedicated teachers at Greer Middle to make a difference in my community. I love math and want to share that love of math with my students to encourage them to be productive, responsible citizens.

My teaching career started in 1998 when I student taught at Hillcrest High in Simpsonville. I then taught junior and senior high math at a private school in Michigan. I took a break after my husband and I started a family, but I continued to tutor students and coach sports. When my youngest entered kindergarten, I started substituting in public and charter schools in the Detroit area. I coached various sports teams including soccer, volleyball, softball and basketball.

Six years ago our family transitioned down to the Greenville area due to my husband's job. After a year of working in finances for a non-profit organization, I regained my teacher certification and taught high school math for four years. I am so thankful for the opportunity to teach middle school.

I enjoy watching and playing sports. I would also love to come support my students at any of their events. Our school is filled with talented young people and I would love to show my support for them. I also love to cook and have done some catering. I enjoy swimming, shopping, helping others and spending time with my family. My husband and I have four wonderful children, two daughters-in-law, two golden retrievers, and two grand-puppies!
