About Me

My name is Wendy Garrison and I currently teach 3rd grade at Crestview Elementary. I received my Bachelor's of Arts in Elementary Education from Clemson (GO TIGERS!!) I also received my Master's of Education in Reading from Clemson in 2002. I can't seem to get away from the tigers!!

This is my 27th year of teaching.  I have taught 2nd grade though Middle School throughout my career.  I have 3 amazing children and all 3 went to Crestview.

Mission For The Class

We have an active curriculum including problem-based science and teach based on the standards expected of all third graders and build from there. We will create great relationships as well as strong academic learning and arts integration! My most important classroom rule is to treat others with the respect you would want them to show you! My students are very supportive of each other. We cherish our differences, because that is what makes us so special.

I truly believe that each child is a gift. I believe everyone has strengths. It is up to me, as a teacher, to encourage children to develop their strengths and to help bolster their weaknesses through creative teaching. I expect each child to give his/her best effort. I will not settle for less. My students can expect this from me as well.

The 2023-2024 school year will be dedicated to high expectations! My class will also focus on classroom procedures/expectations. We will know exactly how the classroom operates. It will be an efficient and effective way to work together. It will also allow us to spend quality on-task learning time! My mission is to provide a fun and stimulating learning environment for each and every student in my classroom.
