My name is Blakley Garrett. I was born in St. Petersburg, Florida, but raised in Greenville, South Carolina. This will be my 7th year teaching at J.L. Mann.
Before becoming a teacher at Mann, I graduated from Clemson with a BA in English in 2016. Following graduation, I left the states for the first time and spent 8 months teaching English in the south of France. I loved getting to experience other cultures through the people I meet, and of course, the food!
Cooking, baking, and trying new foods are some of my favorite things to do. There isn't a dish that I could pass up eating or learning how to cook. When I'm not in the kitchen, I enjoy reading, music, crafting, DIY, gardening, and hanging out with my three cats: Samson, Ivy, and Lionel.
In addition to teaching English, Film Criticism, and being the yearbook advisor, I am the assistant director for the JL Mann Patriot Players. My favorite components of theatre are: set design, costumes, sound, design, and stage management.
I can't wait to get to know all of you and the things you love to do, 2025-2025 will be a great year!
