🌟 BEHAVIOR MANAGEMENT🌟
💛 In our classroom, we will focus on self-regulation, positive reinforcement, and natural/logical consequences. Our goal is to help students develop important skills that will last a lifetime. We will provide clear rules and expectations, and any consequences will be appropriate and make sense for the situation.

📝 Good Notes
Each day, Mrs. Hayes and I will be watching for positive behaviors. We will write several good notes to send home, and we will celebrate students who receive one! Keep a lookout for good notes in your child’s folder.
🎯 Whole-Class Incentives
We will work together as a class to earn fun rewards such as Pajama Day, special treats, or extra recess! Students will earn letters in the word COMPLIMENT. When we complete the word, the students will get to choose their class reward!
🪑 Table Points
Tables can earn points for positive behaviors such as working quietly, following directions, and helping and encouraging each other. When a table earns 10 points, all members will get to visit the treat jar! This system helps keep our classroom calm, positive, and productive while encouraging students to work together.
🧶Warm Fuzzies
Students will earn Warm Fuzzies (pom-poms) throughout the day for positive behaviors such as completing their work, helping a friend, following directions, showing kindness, and making good choices. Each week, students can “cash in” their Warm Fuzzies for fun prizes!
💡 Logical Consequences
Mistakes happen, and we all have tough days. We will work alongside you to support your child in learning from mistakes and meeting classroom expectations. If multiple reminders and redirection do not help, logical consequences may be used. These consequences will be linked to the behavior, helping students understand how their choices affect them and others.
For example:
If a child is not listening during carpet time after repeated reminders, they may be asked to sit in the "island" spot. If a child plays with or throws food in the cafeteria, they may sit with the teacher. If a child hurts someone on the playground, they may have a few minutes of “thinking time” on the bench.
🤝 Working Together
If behaviors become consistent or we notice that a student is having difficulty meeting expectations, I will reach out so that we can work together on a plan to help get things back on track. I truly appreciate your support as we help our students learn, grow, and develop the skills they need to be successful, not just this year, but for a lifetime!
