Hello!
My name is Amanda Bentley, and I am excited to begin my 19th year in education. I currently serve as a Social Studies teacher for both the Satellite Diploma Program and the High School Alternative Program (HSAP) at the Sullivan Center.
I’ve been part of the Alternative School for 15 years and am proud to be in my 12th year with the Satellite Diploma Program. Before returning to the Upstate, I taught in Charleston County for three years.
I’m a proud native of Fountain Inn, SC, and a 1993 graduate of Hillcrest High School — Go Rams! I earned my B.A. in History from the College of Charleston in 1998 and went on to complete my M.A.T. in Secondary Social Studies at Charleston Southern University in 2001.
My son and I live in Fountain Inn, and we share a love of live music. One of our favorite experiences was traveling to Red Rocks in September 2021 for a concert — a true bucket list moment! We always have a concert on the calendar! I am very involved in my church and love teaching Sunday school when the opportunity presents itself. I volunteered with a Women’s Christian Counseling Ministry for many years, where I served as a support group facilitator. I love being an encouragement to people who are walking though hard times and am often placed in positions to speak Jesus into them which is my favorite thing to talk about. I love spending time at the beach, enjoying God's creation and soaking up the sun, especially at our family place in Wild Dunes. As a lifelong Gamecock fan, I particularly enjoy cheering on Gamecock Baseball!
I’m looking forward to working with all of the amazing students in the Satellite Diploma Program and HSAP this year. It’s going to be a great one!
