Meet Ms. Smith

Hello, I'm Deja Smith and this is my fourth year at Thomas E. Kerns. This is my eighth year in education. I have taught 1st grade, 4th grade and 5th grade as well as reading intervention. I have a Bachelor's of Science in Psychology from Bowie State University in Bowie, Maryland and received my Masters of Education from Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, Maryland. I was a teacher in Baltimore City Public Schools for three years and on a military base in Prince George's County, Maryland for one year. I was born and raised in Albany, NY and I recently moved to the area from California. In my free time I enjoy reading books, traveling and watching Marvel movies.
