My name is Candace Shockley, and I am excited to share that this is my 21st year teaching, with 11 of those years here at Greenville High School. Throughout my career, I have had the privilege of teaching various levels of self-contained special education classes in Cherokee and Anderson Counties.
I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Special Education with a focus on Learning Disabilities from the University of South Carolina Upstate. Additionally, I hold a certification in Mental Disabilities from Converse College, which has broadened my ability to support diverse learners effectively.
I live in Greenville with my husband and three wonderful children. Outside of the classroom, I enjoy cooking, crocheting, reading—especially comic books—watching movies and television, and spending quality time playing with my children.
My teaching philosophy centers on student inclusion—believing that every student deserves a supportive, respectful, and engaging learning environment where they feel valued and empowered to reach their full potential. I am committed to creating opportunities for all students to learn alongside their peers and to celebrate their unique strengths and abilities.
