A Little About Me
As a native South Carolinian born in Charleston, SC, I have lived in Greenville, SC, for the past seven years. Before then, I lived in Knoxville, TN for about 16 years. My husband and I enjoy our four children (two boys and two girls... 18, 16, 14, and 12), my wonderful mother, our sweet chiweenie Mavis, and our newest addition and love Bea the kitten. I love writing poetry, analyzing literature, painting abstract art, urban hiking, baking cinnamon rolls, boogie boarding, playing guitar, and attending music/arts festivals. Even though I am a beach bum/downtown girl at heart, I also love nature and find solace in the woods on a beautiful day-- just as long as I don't get lost.
I hold a Bachelor's Degree in English with a Minor in Spanish and Masters' Work in English Education. I am Gifted and Talented Certified through the South Carolina Board of Education; additionally, I am a certified SmartArts Teacher in Greenville County. I have served in the education of children for the better part of 25 years. This is my 6th year at League Academy, and I adore the Arts Integration and Capturing Kids Hearts foundations here. In the past, I have served children in whatever capacity would educationally meet their needs. I have homeschooled, tutored, worked in private education, and subbed for countless others. In my spare time, I have also edited published books.
I cannot wait to share my love for the arts with you! I want you all to know you are loved!! I want you all to know I respect you as humans greatly, and I desire to teach you how to be the best communicators. YOUR VOICE MATTERS!
