Classroom Expectations
Behavior Plan
My behavior plan focuses on R.E.S.P.E.C.T. and reinforcing positive behavior with students. My goal is to encourage students to take responsibility for their actions, self-regulate, & respect others.
This year we will use a clip chart to keep students on track with their behavior. Some students may be familiar with this, as previous teachers may have used a similar system. You will be notified of your child’s behavior each day on the Monthly Behavior Tracker in the Blue Take Home Folder. Please note that there are certain situations that require an immediate office referral. If a student has continuous behavior incidents, an Individual Behavior Plan will be implemented.
Outstanding Leadership Outstanding Oakview Owl Leader (Blue)
Student clipped up three times for showing extraordinary leadership throughout the day.
Excellent Choices Great Oakview Owl Behavior (Purple)

Good Effort Good Oakview Owl Behavior (Green)

Ready to Learn
All students start here each day because they should come in ready to learn! Everyday is a new day & everyone deserves to start with a clean slate no matter what happened the day before.
Think About It Warning/Think Spot (Yellow)
Students receive a verbal warning and the rule or expectation will be retaught; May be moved to the Think Spot to reflect on their choices.
Teacher Choice Buddy Room/Think Sheet (Orange)
Student will go to a “Buddy Room” to regroup & complete a Think Sheet; Teacher may choose a loss of privilege or other consequence.
Parent Contact Phone Call/Note Home (Red)
I will make a phone call or send a note home to parents to discuss behavior in the classroom.
Office Referral See School Administrator (Black)
Students will be sent to the office with an office referral to discuss behavior with one of the School Administrators. At this point the Administrator will decide loss of privileges or other consequences.
Students may earn coupons and other rewards for positive behavior. We will also keep track of overall class behavior in which the whole class may receive rewards such as Extra Recess, Game Day, Pajama Day, etc.
Behavior is such an important component to learning in the classroom. Let’s work together to provide a learning environment that is safe and organized, and most importantly where your child will be successful. If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact me.
