Meet Your Teacher

~ Welcome to 5th grade ~

My name is Jennifer Reyes and I am so excited to be your child's reading, writing, and social studies teacher this year! 

I was born in Lansing, Michigan and raised in Columbia, South Carolina. I graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education at Coastal Carolina University. I have taught reading intervention, 4th and 5th grade.  5th grade has been my favorite grade to teach so far and here at Gateway, we create so many amazing memories for the students' last year in elementary school. Our goal is to help prepare your child to be successful academically and socially before entering middle school!

I am married to my husband, Josh and we have one son named Boston. I also have three dogs and two cats. I am a big animal lover and foster dogs for Greenville's local shelter. I enjoy reading, going on hikes, being outdoors, shopping on Amazon, watching documentaries, and spending time with family and friends. 

My goal is to make sure each student feels loved, valued, challenged, and safe. To reach that goal as a classroom community, we will be creating a classroom each child loves being part of combined with an unwavering commitment to accountability.
