Reporter to teacher

Anna B. Mitchell came to Ralph Chandler Middle School after a two-decade career in journalism. She covered business and education in Greenville for The Post and Courier newspaper and previously worked at The Greenville News, where she was a beat and investigative reporter covering Greenville County government. 

Ms. Mitchell earned a bachelor's degree with honors in history at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, and did post-graduate study in print journalism at the Missouri School of Journalism. She also holds an MBA from the University of Applied Sciences in Würzburg. 

Ms. Mitchell has a daughter, Laura, who is studying abroad in Germany this year as a freshman in high school, and her husband (Dr. Ted Mauro) teaches law at Greenville High School. She enjoys playing bassoon and hanging out at Hartwell Lake on weekends. 

The cute dog in the photo to the left is Ashe, and he is a very good boy.
