Ms. Leser's Classroom Rules
*Come to Class with a POSITIVE attitude
*Try your Best
*Follow Teacher Directions
*Treat everyone with RESPECT
*Treat classroom & materials with Respect
Each time a student has a 'good period' with me; meaning they tried their best to follow rules, they get a hole punch on their 'Good Behavior Card' after 10 hole punches...student gets to TREAT THEMSELVES to a candy and fidget toy.
Students will be given 3 'warnings' or 'strikes' before being told that they did not earn their hole punch for the period and to try again next time.
Good Behavior shout-outs and/or compliments WILL BE given at any time someone is caught going above and beyond in work OR behavior.
Some food for thought:
⅙ of School Aged Children are diagnosed with at least 1 type of emotional disability.
Deep breathing (of any kind) has been scientifically proven to re-set the mind during a time of ‘distress’
Setting, teaching, and consistently implementing classroom routines, using Visual Aides as well as re-teaching specific skills as necessary, increases student understanding and compliance and decreases student anxiety and frustration within the classroom.
You CANNOT stop an unwanted behavior; you MUST replace the unwanted behavior with appropriate choices.
My emphasis this school year is to provide support to teachers and students with sensory needs, breaks, and classroom accommodations.
