Unit 1: Survival/Prose, Poetry, Narrative

We will be reading Lord of the Flies. I recommend purchasing a copy of this book so that notes can be taken in the book. However, there are copies of the book in the school media center and the public library. There is a copy of the book in google classroom.

Unit 2: Greek Mythology, Informational/expository writing

We will be learning about Greek mythology and studying Homer's The Odyssey. We will also look at informational texts (nonfiction, etc.) and writing an informational piece, mostly likely a How to ______ For Dummies paper.

Unit 3: Antigone, Argument Writing

Unit 4: Social Justice, Argument writing

Unit 5: Romeo and Juliet, TDA writing/literary analysis

Unit 6: Poetry, dystopian short stories
