Course Description
New Tech English II H with AP World History is a course that encompasses Modern World History and Literature from the Renaissance through the Cold War. English II is an EOC course that will include reading and writing with claims and evidence. The EOC will count for 20% of the entire course grade for English II. A final exam will be given for the Modern World History component and count 20% of the second semester grade. Students will be expected to collaboratively interact with group members, keep up with social contracts, and create rich final products that display their knowledge and thinking skills on various concepts.
In AP World History: Modern, students investigate significant events, individuals, developments, and processes from 1200 to the present. Students develop and use the same skills, practices, and methods employed by historians: analyzing primary and secondary sources; developing historical arguments; making historical connections; and utilizing reasoning about comparison, causation, and continuity and change over time. The course provides six themes that students explore throughout the course in order to make connections among historical developments in different times and places: humans and the environment, cultural developments and interactions, governance, economic systems, social interactions and organization, and technology and innovation.
