This is my fifth year teaching at Bryson Middle and my 20th year teaching overall. I am excited to be teaching social studies on Team 6/8. I love creating relationships with students, finding ways to engage them with the social studies content, and building community in our school. I am married and have three kids. I received a BA in History from the University of South Carolina and completed a Masters in Teaching from USC as well. I enjoy hiking, reading, keeping up with my Gamecocks, and watching my kids with their various extracurricular activities. Go Bulldogs!

The Return of George Washington by Edward J. Larson
I am currently reading The Return of George Washington. This book focuses on the six consequential years between the end of the Revolutionary War, when Washington resigned his military commission as commander-in-chief of the Continental Army, and his inauguration as the first president of the United States. I have enjoyed gaining a better understanding of Washington's role in the creation of the U.S. Constitution, as well.
