About Mr. Thompson

I am excited to be joining the Paris Elementary family! This is my 14th year in education, and I look forward to building meaningful relationships with students, families, and staff.

I was born and raised in Charlotte, North Carolina. After graduating from high school, I proudly served four years in the United States Marine Corps. I later earned my bachelor's degree in Elementary Education from Appalachian State University and a Master's degree in Educational Administration from the University of South Carolina. Throughout my career, I have been passionate about creating engaging classrooms where every student feels valued, challenged, and supported.

My wife, Sarah, and I have two wonderful sons. George will be entering second grade, and Charlie will be starting kindergarten, both here at Paris Elementary. We are excited to become part of the Paris community.

When I'm not in the classroom, I enjoy spending time with my family, gardening, reading, and cheering on the Appalachian State Mountaineers, the Carolina Panthers, and the Charlotte Hornets.

I am incredibly excited to join the Paris family and can't wait to partner with our students, families, and staff to make this a year filled with learning, growth, and memorable experiences!
