Welcome!

It is an honor to be a part of the Satellite Diploma Program as a social studies teacher!

I graduated from the University of Illinois in 1992 with a bachelor’s degree in Secondary Social Studies Education, with a minor in Geography. I did this when our children were in elementary school and pre-school! They are now grown adults with spouses and one daughter each. I do love being a grandma! My husband & I have adopted a puppy from the Greenville Humane Society. Riley is 10 months at this writing and is the boss as we cater to his every whim.

I began my teaching career in a small school district in Illinois. Then in 2004, my husband’s career took us to Florida for 13 years. From there we were transferred again to Virginia. After 3 ½ years, we came to Greenville this spring, where I was hired to be a social studies teacher in the Satellite Diploma Program.

My location changes have allowed me to teach in a variety of districts, from rural to suburban to new immigrants to urban to a rapidly growing area. I also have the experience to teach different academic abilities: gifted (Advanced Placement), non-English speakers, slow learners, & special education students.

I have provided links with some extra resources to assist you in completing your social studies course. If you need my assistance, please do not hesitate to email me.

Here’s to your great successes, here in the Satellite Diploma Program and in your adult life.
