Class Synopsis:

In the resource support and inclusion (regular education classroom) settings, I serve students with Specific Learning Disabilities (LD), Autism (A) and Other Health Impairments (OHI). (OHI students have other health impairments that negatively impact his or her academic performance.)

Every resource support student has a deficit or weakness in one or more of the following areas: Social Skills (Behavior), Written Expression, Basic Reading Skills, Reading Readiness Skills, Reading Comprehension, Reading Fluency, Math Calculation, Math Reasoning, Adaptive Behaviors, and/or Auditory Processing.

Goals for making progress in areas of deficit or weakness are written and addressed on an individual basis. Each student has an Individualized Education Program (IEP). This program is designed for a complete year. IEP goals are based on individual student achievement test results and classroom needs.

Near the end of the current IEP, an ANNUAL REVIEW MEETING is held. During this meeting, the IEP committee reviews overall student progress and develops a new Individualized Education Program, if needed. Parents/guardians are given a copy of the IEP after the annual review meeting.
