I was born and raised in upstate New York, in a small town called DeRuyter where most of my family still resides. I attended the University of Rochester where I met my husband Alan. We moved to South Carolina shortly after graduating. We have raised two wonderful children here in Greenville. Our daughter Kaitlyn and son Ian are both graduate of Clemson University. They have both moved out on their own and I am proud of the young adults they both have become. We also have two dogs, a sweet Chocolate Lab named Lola and a Husky/Shepherd mix named Chip.
This will be my eleventh year teaching at Eastside. After college, I taught for 3 years at Batesburg-Leesville High School and 3 years at Goodwill Industries. I then took a break from the classroom to stay home with my own children. All the while, I continued teaching by tutoring many students all over Greenville County. After my children were both in school and gaining some independence, I began to substitute teach in Greenville County until eventually returning to my own classroom full time here at Eastside. I have since completed my Master's Degree in Education at Anderson University. In addition, I have earned my certification in AP Calculus AB and BC, Gifted and Talented, and Read to Succeed.
