Meet Your Teacher

I was born in Spartanburg, SC in 1977. I grew up in Boiling Springs, SC, but moved to Landrum in 1987. I graduated from Landrum High School in 1995. I graduated in May 1999 from USC-Spartanburg (now Upstate) with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Secondary Education Social Studies. In December 2009, I obtained a Masters in Education with a specialization in Technology from Walden University.

I was married on August 8, 1998. I married my high school sweetheart, Gavin Sullivan. I have two beautiful and precious daughters, Alexandrea Sullivan, "Ally", born on September 13, 2001 and Zoe Sullivan, born on February 5, 2009.  I am richly blessed!  I have two dogs, Sophie (black lab mix) and Grace (a bloodhound mix).  I have one Granddog...KIWI...She has my heart! I have A LOT chickens and one rooster (named Big Red).  I have two goats, Naomi and Evie.  I also have 4 cats...Oreo, Kitters, Boots, and Tebow !  I love animals! Eventually I would love to have cows and horses!

I reside in Gowensville, SC. Before coming to BRMS, I taught 7th grade Social Studies at Mauldin Middle School for six years. I started teaching at Blue Ridge Middle School in 2006. I am looking forward to many great years at Blue Ridge!  I taught sixth grade for 8 years. Moved to 7th grade in 2016.  I coached softball for 6 years and won two district championships. Left for a bit to watch my girls play. However, I returned to coaching softball two years ago. In 2022, we won the district championship AGAIN! On any given Saturday you will probably find me on a softball field, either with Ally, who now plays for Newberry College, as a pitcher, or with Zoe (who also plays travel softball and volleyball for Blue Ridge).

    I love my church. #FreeChapel

I believe that all children can learn given the right opportunity. I want to show children there is a world outside of Blue Ridge Middle and social studies is the best subject to do that.
