Hi and thank you for wanting to know more about me! This is my 23rd year teaching English, and I am so excited to be at Hughes. I personally attended here for middle school, so I am a cougar again.

I spent ten years at Carolina High *go C-Train* teaching everything from English I to AP Literature and Composition. I then taught 7th and 8th grade English at Spartanburg Day School for 12 years.

I am married to the media specialist at Brushy Creek Elementary, Will Strait, and we have two children: Sidney and Jude. Sidney is a sophomore in college, and Jude is a freshman at JL Mann. 

In my spare time, I love to play tennis, coach sports, cook, go to concerts and plays, and make art.
