All About Me

Aloha, my name is Holly Roane.

I have been with Gateway since 2001, with all but two of those years in First Grade. I went to Converse College and doubled majored in Early Childhood and Elementary Education. I have a Master's degree in Reading and Literacy from Walden University.

I am originally from the Baton Rouge, Louisiana area. I moved to SC when I was in high school, and stayed ever since. Even though I moved, I still root  for LSU - Geaux Tigers.

I remarried this summer, my husband is a bass player and a Colt’s fan. We enjoy movies, music, and working on updating our house together.

I have one son, Evan, he has graduated from USC, he attended Gateway when he was younger. I have 2 cats, and 2 tarantulas.. You will hear a lot about them from the kids, because I talk about them all the time.

I love Hawaii, but I am not Hawaiian. I have been privileged to visit there multiple times, all to the Big Island. The people, culture, and way of life is what I want to bring to the classroom.

A for akahai-  gentle and kind, L for laule’a-  happiness and friendship, O  for ohana- family and friends, H for ha’aha’a- humility and modesty. A for ahonui- patient and enduring

Mahalo (Thank you)
