Welcome to First Grade! My name is Angie Nelson, and I am so excited to be your child's teacher. I graduated from Furman University with a double major in Elementary and Early Childhood Education. In February 2024, I completed my Master of Science in Curriculum and Instruction. I have taught in Greenville County for twenty-three years, sixteen of which have been here at Rudolph Gordon School.  My husband, Brian, and I have two sons, Carter and Gavin. Carter graduated from Clemson and now lives in Tampa, Florida. Gavin is a senior at Clemson, currently working on his accounting degree. We live in Simpsonville and have two fur babies, a long-haired dachshund named Desi and a golden retriever named Tessa. My hobbies include attending concerts, seeing plays, spending time with friends and family, exploring Greenville, traveling to Florida to visit Carter and Disney World, reading, organizing, and cheering on the Clemson Tigers.Â
This year, I will do my best to keep you updated on your child’s academic progress. Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns throughout the year. Our partnership is one of the biggest keys to your child’s success this year.                           Updated August 2025
