Welcome to my classroom website! 

My name is Jodie Murrell and I am very excited to share my specialized real-world nursing experience and passion for education with the students of Riverside High School. I am a licensed Registered Nurse and will be teaching Health Science 1, and Health Science 2 this school year. My favorite aspect of nursing is the wide variety of expertise that can be gained as you navigate your career path.  I am fortunate to have worked in many challenging nursing roles including:

• Operating Room Circulator Nurse

• Outpatient Wound Care Nurse

• Pediatric and Family Medicine Triage Nurse

• School Nurse for Greenville County Schools

• District Nurse Coordinator of Emergency Medical Response for Greenville County Schools

I am originally from Raleigh, NC and graduated from N.C. State University (Go Wolfpack! 📣🐺). My husband is a proud Furman alum and we have raised our two daughters in South Carolina and Maine. I received my Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Southern Maine in Portland which enabled me to embark on an exhilarating second career as a Registered Nurse after raising young children. Our family returned to South Carolina from the cold Northeast in 2019 and has loved calling Greenville home ever since.
