About Me
books. flowers. coffee. cats.
My "Why"
My passion for teaching centers on wanting my students to find their voice. I hope that my classroom will provide ample opportunities to see a variety of perspectives that results in a greater appreciation for our differences. More importantly, I want each and every student to have at least one experience where they can feel confident in expressing their voice. I want to foster a learning environment that challenges each of us to learn and grow.
Yay English!
The reason I love English is because it provides such a great opportunity for exploration. Not only does it give a glimpse into the human experience, but it also helps us to see our own experiences in the lives of others. Being able to read a novel or article or poem and think, "Wow! I had no idea that anyone else felt like me" can be one of the most empowering experiences- seeing that we are not alone in our joys, fears, and even struggles. I love English because it helps us get a glimpse into the lives of others as well as our own.
My Heart
Some of my favorite things in the world include people, books, baking, and flowers. I love to travel and try new things. You can find me nearly any Saturday morning checking out a local farmer's market or meeting with a friend over coffee. I got married in November and now I am reaching total crazy cat mom status as my phone's camera roll is filling up with more and more pictures of her fluffy self.
