About Me

Hi! My name is Mary Cate Mahon and I am so excited to be your child's kindergarten teacher! This is my ninth year teaching and I feel extremely lucky to have spent all of my teaching years at Ellen Woodside. I have taught first grade for many years and look forward to my first year in kindergarten this year. We are going to have a wonderful year full of learning and fun! I cannot wait to see how much your child will grow both academically and socially this year.  

I was born and raised in Aiken, South Carolina. I moved to the upstate to attend Clemson University. Go Tigers! I graduated from Clemson in 2017 with a Bachelors degree in Early Childhood Education. In 2020 I also received a Masters degree in Special Education from Furman University. My husband Avery and I have one son, Henry (1.5) and are expecting our second child in December of this year.  In my spare time I love spending time with my family and friends, cheering on the Tigers and going to the beach!
