My name is Jessica LaChapell. My parents are from Costa Rica, so I grew up speaking Spanish and English in my home. I was raised in California but have called South Carolina my home for over 20 years. I have my B.S. in Chemistry and my MEd in Special Education. I love Math and Science!

I have 5 kids between the ages of 10 and 27, whom I homeschooled for 10 + years and enjoyed teaching them according to their unique learning styles. During this time, I also taught middle school Chemistry and Physics.  I pursued my degree in Special Education because I have a passion for teaching students with learning differences to love learning and empowering them with the strategies they need to feel successful in school.

 I also enjoy tutoring students outside of school (individual or small groups) who need extra practice with 6th grade academics, learning Spanish, or are English Language Learners.
