Career Information

EEDA- The Education and Economic Development Act has truly influenced how South Carolina schools teach career preparedness. The EEDA was passed in 2005. Its trademark, Personal Pathways to Success system combines high standards with career exploration. Career awareness is the focus for elementary age students in grades Kindergarten through 5th. Career exploration is the focus in middle school. Career Preparation is the focus in high school as well as the postsecondary world.

IGP’s- An IGP, or Individualized Graduation Plan, is the main focus in the eighth grade. In order to create an IGP students and parents meet with school counselors to create a plan which specifies a students’ cluster choice, major, post-secondary goal, high school courses, out-of-class learning experiences and more. These conferences are held each year and adjustments can be made at the discretion of the parent and student.
