Hello! My name is Elizabeth Harris King, and I’m proud to be entering my 17th year in education as a certified and Highly Qualified Multi-Categorical Special Education teacher. This is my fourth year at Berea High School, and I’m thrilled to continue serving this incredible school community.
Before joining the high school team, I spent over a decade at Berea Middle School, where I taught a wide range of Educational Support, Inclusion, Reading Support, and Multi-Categorical ELA and Math classes across 6th, 7th, and 8th grades. My time there also included several years as Athletic Director (2012–2020) and coaching volleyball, basketball, and softball. Berea has truly become my second home, and I’m passionate about supporting our students both in and out of the classroom.
I earned my Master’s Degree in Administration and Supervision from Southern Wesleyan University in 2017 and my Bachelor’s Degree in Special Education from Lander University in 2008. While at Lander, I was a student-athlete on the university’s softball team and also played on the women’s rugby club team for two years. I was honored to be involved in several academic and professional organizations, including the South Carolina Council for Exceptional Children, Alpha Chi National College Honor Scholarship Society, and Kappa Delta Pi.
I look forward to another great year of growth, learning, and building meaningful relationships with students and families!

Personal Bio
I am a proud South Carolinian, born and raised in the small town of Calhoun Falls. After graduating from Calhoun Falls High School in 2004, I attended Lander University, where I earned my Bachelor's Degree in Special Education in 2008. After seven years of teaching, I decided to continue my education and earned a Master of Education in Administration and Supervision from Southern Wesleyan University in 2017.
Growing up, I developed a deep love for sports—especially volleyball, basketball, and softball. That passion carried me through high school and into college, where I had the opportunity to play softball at Lander University. Sports have opened many doors for me personally, academically, and professionally, and they continue to be a meaningful part of my life.
After college, I lived in several cities across South Carolina before settling in Spartanburg in 2014. It’s where I met my amazing husband, and together we’ve built a wonderful life. We have a beautiful daughter and three adorable “fur babies”: two Boxers (Roxy and Zeus) and a Toy Poodle (Luna). As a family, we love spending time outdoors—hiking, camping, and taking scenic drives along the Blue Ridge Parkway.
Hobbies & Interests
In my spare time, I enjoy attending all kinds of sporting events—especially Clemson games and Atlanta Braves baseball—with my husband and friends. I love exploring the Upstate’s hiking trails, visiting amusement parks, aquariums, and zoos, and traveling to new cities around the state and country. I’m also a longtime baseball card collector—a hobby I’ve enjoyed since childhood.
