BEHAVIOR MANAGEMENT
Kindergarten is the most AMAZING year in a child’s educational journey (in our opinion ☺). They will be continuing to learn so many foundational academic skills-- how to read, write, add, subtract, and much more. They will also learn foundational social and emotional skills--how to follow routines, play together, achieve goals, and participate in conversations. In order to facilitate optimal growth, we will work on cultivating our whole brain learning:
Controlling our bodies, controlling our voices, using our imaginations, building our stamina for concentration, developing our understanding of and skills for cooperation.
While it is sometimes necessary to
correct inappropriate behavior through consequences, it is our goal to positively
reinforce good behavior as much as
possible.
Each student will receive a punch card. They
will get a hole punch at the end of the day if
they have made good choices. Once a student
has earned 5 hole punches, they will be
rewarded with a trip to the treasure box.
Rewards may change throughout the school
year.
Classroom Rules
Follow directions immediately
Show kindness and respect to your teachers and classmates
Keep your hands and feet to yourself
Control your voice
Control your body
If your child has trouble making good choices, I will contact you. Otherwise, no news is good news.

We want to know exactly how your child will be coming to and from school each day. If there is a change in your child’s normal dismissal procedures, it is very important that you send a note, message me, or call the office.
Car Riders: All car riders are given a number on a school tag. This number tag should be visible and hanging from your rearview mirror. Parents will receive 2 tags to share between cars. Individuals who arrive at school with no tag will be required to go to the school office to show identification to verify authorization for pick up. If someone other than you will be picking up your child, please notify us in writing so that we can ensure that he/she is on the approved pick up list. k4 and K5 students are dismissed from the bus loop at the back of the school. Older siblings will join them for dismissal.
Bus Riders: All bus riders are assigned a bus route and pickup tag. Please contact the school office if you have any questions concerning bus route or pickup tag. Someone MUST be at the bus stop with the pickup tag in order for your child to be dropped off. If no one is there with a tag then your child will be returned to the school and you will be notified to pick up your child.
