Hey there! I am ECSTATIC to be here at Hughes Academy. This is my 14th year as an educator, and I've taught in Virginia, North Carolina, and South Carolina. I completed my Bachelor's in Education at Radford University and earned my Master's in Curriculum and Instruction at Averett University.
I love to read, especially horror and fantasy! I also have slightly unhealthy obsessions with dragons and lemons (they're the cutest fruit!). I have my own personal zoo of 5 dogs and 1 cat.
Thanks for trusting me with your students' education! Here's to a great year!
School Survival Tips with Mrs. G
Get a planner - writing it down means you're less likely to forget!
Read 10-20 minutes each day - your vocabulary will VASTLY expand
Keep your nose on your face or in a book - not in others' business (life is more peaceful that way!)
If you treat everything like a grade, then you'll always put in your best effort
Find a trusted adult you can talk to, we all need someone to lean on sometimes
Track the teacher with your eyes when they talk (bonus points if you nod along!)
Remember, it's okay to not know, but not okay to not try!
