About Me

I have owned my own horses for over 35 years. I presently have two American Saddlebreds who are retired, and two Rocky Mountain Horses. This is Victoria, my youngest and only mare. Love my sweet girl! The children will hear lots of stories about my horse adventures!

I was raised in Schenectady, New York. I attended Indiana University in Bloomington, Indiana and graduated with a bachelor of science degree in education. I received my master's degree from Furman University, as well as my gifted education certification. I began teaching in Greenville County Schools in 1973. (Yes, I've been around awhile!)

I have taught grades 1-5, as well as the Challenge Program. I retired from Plain Elementary in 2014, but continued working as a substitute teacher. When Mrs. Mihalic asked me if I was interested in returning to the classroom full time I responded with an enthusiastic "Yes!" I love teaching and working with children. Being at Plain and colaborating with this fabulous faculty was something I couldn't refuse. I decided that four years of retirement was enough for me.

I have been married to my husband, Charlie, for 39 years. Besides the four horses, we have two dogs, making a total of six fur babies.

Besides horses, I love to garden in my spare time and read mystery novels.
