About Me

Hi! My name is Mrs. Gilstrap, and I can't wait to meet all of you. We are going to have a great year learning together and having fun along the way. Mrs. Garrett will be your teacher for Reading and Social Studies, and I will be your teacher for Math, Science, and Writing. I have a class pet - a leopard gecko named Bruni. He loves hunting for crickets and sleeping in his log.

This is my eighth year at FIE, and I am proud to be a firefly! I graduated from North Greenville University with my Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education. I grew up in Gray Court and attended Laurens District 55 High School.

My husband and I have two daughters who keep us very busy! In my free time, I love to read (especially on my Kindle), bake, and explore new places. 

These are some of my favorite things: Iced Coffee, Diet Coke, Chex Mix, Peanut Butter M&Ms, Beach Trips, all things Disney, and Football Games (Go Clemson Tigers). My favorite color is purple.
