Welcome to the Gifted and Talented Program!! This is going to be a great year for all of us! I am so excited to have your son or daughter in my classroom.

Let me tell you a little bit about myself. I was born and raised in Greeneville, Tennessee. I graduated from the University of Tennessee and moved to South Carolina 34 years ago right after marrying my high school sweetheart, Mark.  In 2013, I received National Board Certification as well as additional certification for teaching the Gifted and Talented. I successfully renewed by National Board certification four years ago.

I have two children of my own Matt (age 31) and Jenna (age 27). My daughter Jenna Poree is a teacher at Ralph Chandler Middle School (7th grade science). This year will be my 6th year at Fork Shoals School and 5th at Robert E. Cashion (my 9th in Challenge).  I feel very fortunate to be a part of such wonderful schools and communities!

I look forward to getting to know you and your child. I will do my best to educate your child to his or her highest potential. The Gifted and Talented Program is designed to challenge your child to grow and learn in ways not available to them in a regular classroom setting. This year will be a very busy and exciting year and I hope that together we can make it a positive and memorable experience.
