Welcome to the Gifted and Talented Program!! This is going to be a great year for all of us! I am so excited to have your son or daughter in my classroom.

Let me tell you a little bit about myself. I was born and raised in Greeneville, Tennessee. I graduated from the University of Tennessee and moved to South Carolina 33 years ago right after marrying my high school sweetheart, Mark.  In 2013, I received National Board Certification as well as additional certification for teaching the Gifted and Talented. I successfully renewed by National Board certification three years ago.

I have two children of my own Matt (age 30) and Jenna (age 26). My daughter Jenna Poree is athird year teacher at Ralph Chandler Middle School (7th grade science). This year will be my 5th year at Fork Shoals School and 4th at Robert E. Cashion (my 8th in Challenge).  I feel very fortunate to be a part of such wonderful schools and communities!

I look forward to getting to know you and your child. I will do my best to educate your child to his or her highest potential. The Gifted and Talented Program is designed to challenge your child to grow and learn in ways not available to them in a regular classroom setting. This year will be a very busy and exciting year and I hope that together we can make it a positive and memorable experience.
