Who is Mrs. Egan?
Born and raised in Greenville, I am a proud product of Greenville County Schools. From a young age, my parents instilled in me a love for reading and a deep appreciation for the outdoors. After graduating from Wade Hampton High School (where I said I would never become a teacher), I went on to Winthrop University (where I promptly fell in love with teaching). It was a love of literature that got me in the classroom door, but it’s the relationships built with my students that has kept me there. After 22 years of teaching ELA in Newberry County, I am very excited to be joining the Woodmont team. When I'm not in the classroom, you can usually find me outside chasing some sort of adventure. Since high school, running has been my therapy, and I completed my third marathon this past October. My husband and I love to travel, kayak, and hike whenever we can. We also have two huskies, London and Lucy (literary names, of course), who keep us busy with their enthusiastic (i.e. vocal) demands for attention.
