I have been teaching 1st grade for the past six years. Before that, I taught 2nd grade and worked as a teacher’s aide in special education. This is my second year at Taylors Elementary, and I am so excited to have the opportunity to teach, grow, and make a difference right here in my own community.
I have called Taylors home for nearly 20 years, so being able to serve the families and students in the community I love makes this experience especially meaningful to me. I am truly grateful to be a part of the Taylors Elementary family!
I was raised in Starr, SC, and I come from a large, close-knit family. I’m the baby of the family, and now all of those little ones in the picture have grown up! I have tons of nieces and nephews, and even great-nieces and great-nephews, so our family dinners are always a big affair.
I’m also the proud mom of a 19-year-old son who will be attending Tri-County Tech this year and a 10th-grade daughter who is attending Wade Hampton High School. Both are products of Greenville County Schools, and they are truly my heartbeats walking around outside of my body. I couldn’t be prouder of them!
I love spending time with my family and exploring new places together. I’m also a huge San Francisco 49ers fan! I’ve had the opportunity to attend a couple of home games in Santa Clara, California.
The picture to the left is inside the White House in Washington, D.C. Visiting the White House was such an amazing and memorable experience—one I would highly recommend to anyone visiting the area.
I am looking forward to getting to know each student. I am dedicated to teaching and loving my students. I know that each student has a special genius and whatever that genius be, I expect my student to give their all.
Albert Einstein wrote, “Everybody is a genius. But if you judge a fish by its ability to climb a tree, it will live its whole life believing that it is stupid.”
Together, we will work to make sure your child is successful and happy. I love to do a lot of hands on activities and bring fun and educational experiences to the classroom.
I look forward to a great year!
